Bragança Granfondo: it's everything and more!

At an altitude of over 1,300 metres, the 2025 edition of the Bragança Granfondo will take place between the cliffs and the top of the majestic Nogueira mountain range. With its breathtaking views over a landscape that so well defines the hot and cold lands of the north-east of Trás-os-Montes, it holds the route that will lead participants through a territory steeped in ancestral traditions and people of unlimited generosity.

Aspect that characterises it and sets it apart from all the others, this ‘most lively granfondo in the world’ has, in addition to Bragança, incursions into the municipalities of Vinhais and Macedo de Cavaleiros. Castro de Avelãs, Ousilhão, Zoio and Podence are some of the passing points along a route where there will be no shortage of caretos, bombos, philharmonics and DJs. Yes, because the Bragança Granfondo is all this and much more.

It's an adventure where minifondo, mediofondo and granfondo cover 46, 82 and 126 km respectively, with the first two distances reaching the highest altitude - 1090 metres. After the ascent of Carrazedo (3.5 km at 6.2%), the minifondo participants head towards the finish line, while those in the mediofondo will be put to the test on the Cidões ramp, where the 4000 metres have an average gradient of 10%.

Until they reach Zoio, the participants of the two longer distances continue together, but from then on, the mediofondo heads towards the finish and the granfondo takes the charismatic village of Podence, cosied up by the Protected Landscape of the Azibo Reservoir. The return journey to the city of Bragança is via the pleasant EN 15 motorway.
