Douro Granfondo

The Douro Granfondo is 10 years old and we want to celebrate with you.

Like the wine that gave the region its name and worldwide reputation, the Douro Granfondo has grown and evolved to become a benchmark for cycling enthusiasts. In 2025, Portugal's biggest Granfondo will reach its 10th edition, and to mark the occasion, the routes will be redesigned along almost their entire length.

And since there is still so much to discover in the Douro, this will be an edition not to be missed. All the routes will be mainly north of the River Douro, in an area that includes the municipalities of Vila Real, Sabrosa and Alijó, in addition to the host municipality of Régua. For the 'queen' distance, there will also be an incursion through Tabuaço.

It will be an adventure in the heart of the Cima Corgo, one of the three sub-regions of the Alto Douro Wine Region, where the landscape, and especially the viticulture, is completely different from the others. Here, in the breathtaking scenery that captivated Miguel Torga, riders will tackle the climbs of Vila Seca (11km at 4.4%), Donelo (4.5km at 7.6%) and Covas do Douro (1.5km at 9.7%).

In 2025, the Douro Granfondo will be an unmissable opportunity to discover a little more of the amazing and inexhaustible beauty of the Douro. An unprecedented route with which we will celebrate the first decade of the most emblematic Portuguese Granfondos on 11 May.
