On 15 March 2026, we will return to Viana do Castelo and the magnificent landscapes of the Lima and Minho valleys. The majestic Serra d'Arga mountain range will provide the backdrop to this event, which bears the Bikeservice seal of quality, stretching between the two rivers that flow peacefully into the Atlantic Ocean. At 53 km, the mini-marathon is not particularly challenging, with an easy route featuring gentle climbs at Costa and Vila Verde. The first half mostly takes place on forest roads towards Caminha. As with the other two distances, the return to Viana from here is along the coastline, with the sea breeze providing welcome relief.
In Orbacém, with the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Minho in their sights, the mediofondo and granfondo skirt the Serra d'Arga via Amonde, Meixedo and Lanheses. Between the Serras d'Arga and Formigoso, participants must then climb Cabração (3 km at 6.6%). The mediofondo then continues at a good pace to the finish line on North Beach, completing the 99 km route.
Those who opt for the 130 km granfondo will head to Paredes de Coura and continue along a more challenging route. They will certainly be rewarded for their efforts by the views offered by Agualonga, Rubiães, Sapardos and Covas, before the 4.5 km climb to Sopos (6.2%). Passing through Vilar de Mouros and Venade on the way to Caminha will be done at an intense pace.
In short, whatever the distance, the important thing is to be present at this Viana Granfondo, the gateway to the picturesque and verdant Alto Minho region.
